December 30th 2008:
Wow, This year went by so fast... Seems like just yesterday it was Labor Day! Tomorrow night we'll be saying goodbye to 2008 and welcoming in 2 double-ot-nine. (2009.) Steve and I wanted to take the opportunity to wish everyone happy New Year and ask you all to join us on January 10th and 11th at "Seattle Dog Winterfest." This will be our first appearence at at trade show and this one is a doozy... Featuring, 'The Dog Whisperer,' Cesar Millan and Blake Lewis from American Idol. Come on by our booth and say "Hi" and we might even send you home with something cool.
Steve is looking forward to meeting with Cesar and talking with him about the Adventure Experience. There's a few similarities between the way Steve handles dogs and Cesar's way of doing things. IMHO, the biggest similarity is the way the dogs look at them, (with utter adoration) as if they're saying, "Where Have You Been, I've been waiting for you to come. If I get a chance to snap a few pictures of Steve and Cesar together, I'll be sure to put them up on our blog at http://AdventureDogs.Wordpress.Com
You can Purchase Tickets to meet Cesar Millan at Seattle Dog Winterfest, read more at pet connection magazine
December 5th 2008:08:
We've had some recent cancellations, so we are accepting reservations for the Christmas holiday again... Steve and the Adventure Boys have been busy performing some upgrades to our facility. We've moved the office out of the dog house and into ours.
Steve has been working on spreading wood chips to keep our best buddies a little drier. We're also turning our old office into another doggie bedroom, so there's FRP Siding to be installed and floors that need sealant. It will all be done in plenty of time for Xmas though.
Our thanks go out to the Adventure Boys (Tomcat and Matt,) for all of their great help. I Don't know what we'd do without them (actually I do,) but I sure appreciate them because it means I get to spend more time with Steve after hours.
I've been busy taking reservations and trying to get into the holiday spirit. It's time to consider breaking out the holiday decorations, and the cheesy Christmas music, but I have to finish sorting through all of the stuff that was stored in my new office first... Maybe we'll see some lights up around here soon.... Until next time ... __K
December 1st 2008:
It's been a busy few weeks at the ranch. We Hope everyone had a great Turkey day.
After reviving from my Turkey contrived coma, I've spent a lot of time thinking about all of our blessings and everything that we have to be "Thankful" about. I guess it goes with season. This year, I'm thankful for our clients for sticking with us through what has been a challenging first year. I'm also very greatful that I have not been forced to return to my techie job. (Boy there's another thing that I'm thankful for, getting laid off from that horrible job that I absolutely despised back in February.) So far, so good, but we'll see how our finances hold up in the new year. I'd much rather be here at the ranch with Steve and all of our canine friends, but if I have to go back to work to help keep Steve's dream alive, I will. I know our service is needed and I know how much our regular clients appreciate having a safe and friendly place for their dogs to come stay and play.
Have a great Holiday Season and we'll see you soon. --Kerri
November 3rd, 2008:
It's Official, we've been your favorite Marysville Dog Boarding, Daycare and Training Facility for an entire year now. Yep it's Adventure Dog Ranch's 1st Anniversary! (It goes by so fast!) We're still working hard to improve our digs, (New fencing, New Trails, New paint etc...) While we keep all of your best friends happy, healthy and well exercised.
It's been a little slow this past month, but we understand... The economy is in the toilet, people's jobs are at risk and Steve and I know all too well what it feels like to watch your investment portfolio take a gigantic hit. (Ours did too, which is why we haven't yet finished the fencing project in the wooded trails section...)
Friends, we're in this for the long run, and although this new adventure has been a huge gamble for us, it's one that we couldn't afford not to take. Life is so much more fulfilling when you're doing something that you love and enjoy. We hope to be here, taking care of your dogs for a long, long time.
We're so happy to see the Boeing Strike over and looking forward to seeing some daycare friends that haven't been around since the strike began...
I predict that things are going to turn around quickly. We'll have a new face in the White House soon, and with that new face they'll be some new idea's do get us all out of this mess. The market won't stay down long and I predict with a new President, we'll start seeing new green jobs being created and the expanditure of Small businesses. Stuff that will help us all go back to work.
(Wow this announcement went in a strange direction....)
See you soon, __KP

July 16th, 2008:
We've been busy... We've finally joined the 21st century and we now have a "MySpace page!" We've also created a Microsoft Spaces Live Page, where I will be hosting the "Adventure Dog Blog," as well as downloadable high resolution photo's, & video's etc... (I recently bought a new digital camera that takes reasonable pictures and video's, and I've even figured out how to set the date on it!) I'm not yet satisfied with our "new & hip" social networking presence yet, keep in mind that I'm not twenty-something anymore. Although I am technically savvy and quite comfortable in a networked environment, I'm not even certain what the entire MySpace phenomena is all about . So if things don't work quite right yet, be patient, I am also one of the most stubborn women on the planet, and I will prevail!!!
So please pop by and check it out, you may even be able to find a picture of YOUR DOG there!
I also encourage you to sign up for our mailing list so that we can inform you when cool things are happening and/or about special offers. I'm working on writing our privacy policy now, but I can assure you without any legal mumbo jumbo that we will never sell any of your information to a 3rd party, nor will we fill your mail box with spam. We respect your privacy and your information is only used to conduct our business with you and on rare occassions, to market our services. (That's way easier to understand than 3 pages of Legal-eze isn't it?)
